Abstract: A simple and highly sensitive method was first developed for the determination of strigolactones extracted from roots of Phyllostachys edulis by ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) with ultraviolet (UV) detection;5-deoxystrgol(5-DS) one kind of strigolactones was conducted qualitative and quantative analysis. This method presented good recovery (80.5%-95.8%),precision (RSD<12%),and linear relations 0.5-40.0 mgL-1). The extract from roots of Phyllostachys edulis was determined as 5-deoxystrgo according to the retention time and spectrum of analyses. The content of 5-deoxystrgo in roots of Phyllostachys edulis is (6.62 0.27) gkg-1. [Ch,2 fig. 2 tab. 11 ref.]
