A further study on effects of electric field on poplar wood-bonding

Abstract: Based on the orthogonal tests of PVAc bonding to poplar veneers with the electric field , the influence of the electric potential differences of backing plates andmoisture contents of veneer on adhesive strength was explored .The results showed that moisture content of veneer , the electric potential difference of backing plates and the interaction of them all had significantly effects on adhesive strength . Within test ranges , better adhesive strengthes could be obtained under 30 V of electric potential difference and 7.0 %~ 9.0 % of moisture content of veneer .
