Application of percolation theory in forest fire simulation

Abstract: In order to know the importance of forest fire behavior to the decision making of forest fire fighting,a forest fire spreading model based on the percolation theory was established to simulate the forest distribution,the spread and movement of forest fire. The simulation experimental results indicated that the proposed model reflected the relationship between the forest fire spread characteristic and the forest density. Furthermore,we discussed other factors affecting the forest fire spreading,such as wind speed,wind direction,topography,and put forwards one modified model for forest fire spreading.
