Multiple aesthetical connotations of plants in Chinese classical gardens

    Corresponding author: YANG Xu-fei

Abstract: People usually concern more about the ecological meaning and external aesthetical factors of garden plants. As an important language factor of gardens, plants also have their own cultural connotations, sensational factors and auspicious meanings. To have a better understanding of garden plants, their spiritual connotations have to be studied and explained. Only in this way,the multiple connotations of plants can be fully understood. The multiple aesthetical connotations should be fully understood and applied in the garden building. [Ch,4 ref.]
