Effect of temperature on breaking dormancy of peach cultivars

Abstract: The effects of changing temperatures within 25 -15 ℃ and constant temperature of 20 ℃ on breaking dormancy of 23 peach cultivars were studied .The germination indexes of 9 peach cultivars were higherwithin 25 -15 ℃than at 20 ℃.The dormancy of flower buds of 2 peach cultivars were much more affected within 25 -15 ℃ than at 20 ℃;the dormancy of leaf buds of 2 peach cultivars were muchmore affected within 25 -15 ℃ than at 20℃.The dormancy of 14 peach cultivars had been partly broken ;the temperature setting had different effects on 16 peach cultivars still under trials .The dormancy of Daguanshan No.1 was much more affected within 25 -15 ℃ than at 20 ℃;the dormancy of Annongshuimi and Yulu were less affected within 25 -15 ℃ than at 20 ℃.The dormancy of leaf buds of most peach cultivars were much more affected within 25 -15 ℃ than at 20 ℃;the dormancy of flower buds of most peach cultivars were less affected within 25 -15 ℃ than at 20 ℃.Temperature had effects on the order of flower buds germination of peach cultivars .Some early-germination cultivars germinated early in all three setting conditions .[ Ch , 2 tab .11 ref .]
